I have the mod installed properly have modified the config prior to starting a new game to 1000 but it doesnt seem to be working, is there a cap to the limit that isnt mentioned?

in the instructions:

  • Configuration:
The default multiplier is set to 5.

You can change the multiplier in the mod config when enabling the mod. This allows you to choose a smaller or larger boost depending on how much you want to change the balance.

    For example:\
  • 2 = moderate boost\
  • 3 = strong boost\
  • 5 = default high boost

it uses multiplier, if you put 1000, means pickups now will have 20.000 capacity, maybe the game doesn't like that a.k.a the number is too high.

the same here All Excavators Bucket Capacity x5

tested out some things to figure out if it works on existing saves

after modifying manifest file to allow adding to existing saves the capacity doesn't change instantly or at all for already existing vehicles...but all newly built vehicles after the mod has been added, have the modified capacity

When creating a new game in the mod settings, you can specify the multiplier you need. It works correctly for x20. You can test it in sandbox mode.

Version 0.1.1
\

  • Added support for adding the mod to existing saved games.\
  • Added support for removing the mod from existing saved games.\
  • Added can_add_to_saved_game: true to manifest.json.\
  • Added can_remove_from_saved_game: true to manifest.json.\
  • Kept multiplier selection through config.json / config.schema.json.\
  • The mod still only changes existing TruckProto capacity values.\
  • No new buildings, resources, recipes, prototypes, or saved data are added.

So, how do we get existing vehicles to update?

I added this mod to a new game save and all trucks show the capacity as 100 instead of the normal 20. No need to upgrade since no new vehicles were added. The change is in the properties of the current trucks.

Which is why I asked how to update >>EXISTING<< vehicles, not new ones.

Thank you very much, works perfectly.

once the mod is installed, the mod works on new trucks produced. if you do not have (as suggested) the "overload" researched, then it seems you must recycle and rebuild each truck currently on the field to have each truck upgraded to 100 rather than the 20. this is a hassle as the recycle process must be done manually... you cant recycle something into the same thing... only to the next thing.
