🎈 Kayser's Rubber & Plastic 🪣

👩‍🔬 When Inputs Balance Themselves 🛢️🛢️🛢️

Current as of: v0.7.9 (b495)

4️⃣ Update 4 Information

This blueprint is fully compatible with Update 4.

📋 Description

Kayser’s Rubber & Plastic are two independent flexible, compact, and efficient petrochemical plants designed to take you from early, lean development into late-game mass production — without redesigns, downtime, or logistical headaches.

Both plants follow Kayser’s proven Starter–Expander pattern: begin with a small, affordable starter blueprint and scale capacity incrementally by latching on identical expansion modules. This approach allows smooth, hassle-free growth from early, lean builds into industrial scale, high throughput complexes, all while keeping low construction costs, minimal operational costs, and visually clean layouts.

A key feature of both designs is built-in priority control for petrochemical fluids, followed by a segmented pipe to support mixed ingredients:

  • Rubber supports Diesel, Naphtha, and Ethanol
  • Plastic supports Naphtha and Ethanol

This gives the player precise, intentional control over which fluids are consumed — making it far easier to balance the wider refinery, prevent upstream shortages, and adapt to changing demands globally.

Also, for players who prefer added automation, each blueprint folder includes an auto-balancer add-on module. When adopted, backed-up fluids are prioritized, allowing the plants to naturally absorb excess petrochemicals and stabilizes the entire factory without manual intervention.

For convenience and completeness, the package also includes:

  • Chlorine for Plastic
  • Reference "Max" builds, showcasing fully expanded, auto-balanced setups:
    • 384× Rubber
    • 432× Plastic

As always, the designs are compact, cheap to build, efficient to operate, and expand gracefully in place — unmistakably Kayser.

Whether you want tight manual control or hands-off fluid balancing, Kayser’s Rubber & Plastic give you both — and let you decide when and how to use which.

⚙️ Feature Summary
  • Compact, rectangular designs for minimal space footprint and easy placement
  • Starter-Expander blueprint pattern for cheap establishment and hassle-free expansion
  • Precise control over ingredient mix, with optional auto-balancers for hands-off refinery stabilization
  • Highly efficient in terms of space, construction cost, power, and maintenance
  • Readily accessible input/output storages for buffering, alerts, and easy mapping and connection of auxiliary transports — all consistently named and with pre-set alerts
  • Combined exhaust for easy connection to exhaust filtration (Plastic)
⚡ Quick Start Guide
  1. Place starter plant in a convenient location with access to storages and adequate space behind for future expansion.
  2. Pause/Unpause buildings as desired. Both plants can run on just a single production building.
  3. Optionally connect inbound/outbound belts and pipes.
  4. After build, clear initial alerts as desired — they will re-appear automatically if conditions are met.
  5. Unpause subsequent buildings when capacity is required.
  6. Latch on expanders to increase capacity further. Manually upgrade starter's belts and pipes as needed.

Note: Diesel/Naphtha/Ethanol tanks can be freely re-arranged, if desired.

Number Blueprint Name Folder Description Technology Required Build Instructions Other Notes
1 96xRubber-Starter Rubber Starter plant for 24-96 Rubber. Transports Balancing, Pipes II (Naphtha Processing, Fermentation, Conveyor Belts II) Plug & Play. Set desired priorities in Final Blend for Rubber balancer (optional). Naphtha Processing is required to use Naphtha. Fermentation is required to use Ethanol. Conveyor Belts II is required for >60 Rubber.
2 96xRubber-Expander Rubber Expansion for +24-96 Rubber. Conveyor Belts II Latches gracefully onto 96xRubber-Starter or onto itself. Upgrade starter's rubber belt and pipes as required. Up to three expansions are supported (total 384xRubber)
3 Rubber-Auto-Balancer Rubber Diesel/Naphtha/Ethanol auto-balancer for Rubber Starter. - Latches gracefully onto 96xRubber-Starter. Note that when adopted, Diesel/Naphtha/Ethanol inputs must be directly into the respective balancers (i.e. not into the tanks). Pre-colored input pipes are provided for guidance. For auto-balancer to work properly, pipes from input balancers must be prioritized in the Final Blend for Rubber balancer.
4 384xRubber-Auto-Balanced Rubber Fully expanded Rubber plant (384x) with auto-balancer. Conveyor Belts III (Naphtha Processing, Fermentation) Plug & Play Naphtha Processing is required to use Naphtha. Fermentation is required to use Ethanol.
5 144xPlastic-Starter Plastic Starter plant for 36-144 Plastic. Plastic, Transports Balancing, Pipes II (Conveyor Belts II) Plug & Play. Set desired priority in Naphtha vs. Ethanol Blender balancer (optional). Conveyor Belts II is required for >120 Plastic.
6 144xPlastic-Expander Plastic Expansion for +36-144 Plastic. - Latches gracefully onto 144xPlastic-Starter or onto itself. Up to two expansions are supported (total 432xPlastic)
7 Plastic-Auto-Balancer Plastic Naphtha/Ethanol auto-balancer for Plastic Starter. - Latches gracefully onto 144xPlastic-Starter. Note that Naphtha/Ethanol inputs must be directly into the respective balancers (i.e. not into tanks). Pre-colored input pipes are provided for guidance. For auto-balancer to work properly, pipes from input balancers must be prioritized in the Naphtha vs. Ethanol Blender balancer.
