Description

Kayser's Compact Concrete

The Compactest Concrete

Current as of: v0.7.4 (Update 3)

General Description

  • UPDATED for U3: Redesigned storage and belt solution for even cheaper initial construction. Removed lifts from base stage. Removed Rock storage and integrated Slag belt in expansion. Added space for cooling tower for optional water reuse. Added assortment of simple rock/gravel crushers for manufactured sand production.
  • Very cheap initial stage that helps you transition away from your basic concrete quickly.
  • Truck access to concrete mixers that allows you make to make use of your free cement.
  • Compact, rectangular design for minimal space footprint and easy placement.
  • Staged blueprints for early/mid-game adoption and incremental development.
  • Highly efficient in terms of construction cost, workers, power, and maintenance.
  • Interconnected exhausts for easy connection to external exhaust filtration, water reuse(U3), or CO2 capture.
  • Readily accessible input/output storages for buffering, alerts, and easy mapping and connection of pipes and belts.

Technical Features

  • Base frame with 4 Concrete mixers. Evolving from (1)2 x T1 mixers to 12+ x T3.
  • Independent and minimal changes required when mixer and kiln technology develops.
  • Integrated coarse fraction (Rock/Slag) crushers. Small crushers build incrementally and eventually replaced with Large crusher for efficiency.
  • Includes a new assortment of (optional) rock crushers for Manufactured Sand production.
  • Also includes oprional advanced multi-crushers for multi-purpose crushing, as well as the old Filter Media add-on that runs on surplus gravel and sand from the multi-crusher.

Input/Output

  • Makes 12-576+* Concrete Slabs, depending on stage.
Stage Description Concrete Slabs Rock/Slag Water Limestone Sand/Manufactured Sand Coal Exhaust Hydrogen

5+2E Twice Expanded T3 (576x) 576 -432 -252 -216 -144 - - -72

Beyond 576 belts and pipes will put a limit on the maximum length, and require additional input/output points. 576 is the maximum recommended size, served by a T3 slag belt and 4x large crushers for manufactured sand.

General Usage

  • Basically Plug-and-Play.
  • All included storages are preset for truck import/export in stage 1.
  • Connect pipes and belts as desired to storages or belts/pipes. All included storages are optional and can be omitted.
  • Rock can be used instead of Slag, or mixed Slag/Rock.
  • See detailed stage information below.

Stage Details

  • Pausing or entering planning mode is recommended when placing blueprints.
  • Some stage upgrades require preparation, such as removing small pieces of belt or pipe.
Stage Description Technology Required Upgrade Preparation Upgrade Instructions Other Notes
1 Double T1 Mixer (24x) Advanced Concrete - - -
2 Quad T1 mixers (48x) - - Place over previous build. -
3 T2 Mixers (96x) Construction III, (Conveyor Belts II) Demolish the small pieces of flat (cement) belt between the connectors on both sides (to make room for the exhaust pipes). Place over previous build. Upgrade Cement mixers to T2. Upgrade belts to T2 where needed (3). If you missed to demolish the belts, simply demolish and re-place the bp.
4 Gas kilns (96x) Rotary Kiln (Gas), (Conveyor Belts II, Water Recovery) Demolish the Coal storage and all the coal belts. Demolish the small pipes that connect the exhaust of the inner kilns. Place over previous. Upgrade the outer kilns to gas. Pause the inner ones (will be upgraded when T3 mixers are unlocked). Check the cement belts for issues. If only hydrogen+cooling tower is used smoke stack can be demolished.
5 T3 Mixers (192x) Robotic Assembly Demolish the small crushers and their adjescent belts. Demolish the small pieces of flat (cement) belts between the connectors on both sides (to make room for the exhaust pipes again). Place blueprint. Upgrade the Concrete mixers to T3. Upgrade gravel belt (2) and concrete slab belt (2) and water pipes (2) where required. Small Cooling Tower is still sufficient.
E Expansion Advanced Smelting Complete stage 4 or 5. Place so that kilns align with no gap. Adds production capacity as per current mixer tech (+96x or +192x). Can be expanded onto itself.
5+E Expanded T3 (384x) Robotic Assembly - - Includes Large Cooling Tower.
5+2E Twice Expanded T3 (576x) Robotic Assembly - - Needs additional output point for Concrete Slabs.

Multi-Crusher (optional)

The Multi-Crusher is a convenient addition to your concrete plant, especially if you want to use Manufactured sand for your concrete. The Multi-crusher uses a shared pool of crushers to crush Rock, Slag, and Quarz to Gavel, Manufacured sand, and Sand respectively. Because it uses a shared pool of crushers, all crushers are used for all products. This gives the Multi-crusher high efficiency in terms of space utilization, workers, maintenance, and power, as well as capability to handle varying supply and demand. Crusher capacity can be extended incrementally, as your total demand increases, by adding additional crushers in paralell. The Multi-crusher has built-in clog stop, so the various products should not get in each other's way.

The Multi-crusher includes a 'Filter media add-on', which fits conveniently within the frame of the concrete and multi-crusher combination, and uses the surplus capacity of the Multi-crusher to source the main ingredients for the Filter media.

Multi-crusher stages

Stage Description Technology Required Preparation Required Instructions Other Notes
1 Small Crushers Concrete Production, (Conveyor Belts II, III. Storage II) - Place where convenient. Attach input/output belts as needed. Delete or pause build of crushers you don't need yet. Unpause crushers and upgrade belts later as required. Upgrade to Cenveyor Belts II and III are required for >60 and >200 total capacity. Upgrade to Storage II is recommended.
2 Large Crushers Crusher (Large), (Conveyor Belts II, III, Storage II) Demolish the small crushers and the crusher input belts (crusher output belt will be used by large crushers). Place superimposed. Delete or pause build of crushers you don't need yet. Unpause crushers and upgrade belts later as required. Upgrade to Cenveyor Belts II and III are required for >60 and >200 total capacity. Upgrade to Storage II is recommended.
F Filter media add-on Wastewater Treatment II Demolish the existing sand feeder belt. Place so that inputs fit the multi-crusher. Includes an input for external Sand.

Hey I'm having a bit of trouble understanding how all of this fits together with the filter media add-on. Am I missing something or could you post examples of complete builds with the multi-crushers?
@coi_Noobs Added picture with the multi-crusher and filter media add-on attached, so you can see how they fit together.
I love the automation in the multi crusher, very efficient, no clogging, watching it is really satisfying. TYVM!!
