Description

"Plains, Trains, and Automobiles...and Bridges" for Update 4. A map to exploit Trains and Bridges! A large, open plains region for freedom in your base layout but with limited starting resources available close by. Trains will be needed fairly early on to bring in your resources to sustain the factory and a deep trench is in the way requiring bridges to span. Credit to "mynameismyname", author of the "The Hill", which was used as a template for portions the map outline.

Version 1=original Version 2=slight changes Version 3=increased starting iron to allow for time to build trains to the mountains Version 4: Fixed all main ore bodies sorting priority. Turns out lower preserved (I thought higher did) - Made mistake on terrain height though so... Version 5: Fixed some area of terrain from V4 Version 6: Changes to layout and amounts of starting resources Version 7: Update 4 with a new trench barrier to the large ore bodies ideal for bridges Some mid-game screen shots: https://imgur.com/a/plains-trains-2lOxFID
there is no gold ore on the map with version 2, pls fix that. :(

?? Gold is right beside the main coal deposit in all versions....east to North/east region
Update 4: This map is not ideal to utilize bridges but I added a sea trench between the plains and the main ore bodies so train bridges can be used. Technically you could cut/fill across but note the trench is very deep so bridges are easier. There is a shelf at the back of the trench to allow for a small road for mega vehicles. Use Version 6 if you want to avoid this new barrier.
