RailPrints! R8 Cardinal [BP: 19 June 2025; Desc: 12 April 2026]

Please Read Before Using!

Currently the whole blueprint set is 214,500 characters, and the hub has a maximum size of 100,000. The blueprint provided on this page contains only the cardinal blueprints. If you would like the entire R8 set, please see the gist below

Description

RailPrints seeks to provide players with a set of basic building blocks for building two track or more rail that can be composed and used to more quickly create rail networks. These pieces are provided with varying curves, inclines and medians to give you choices and flexibility.

This set is Right Hand Drive by default. Stations are not part of this set and likely will not be. However, if you have a station set with a similar philosophy to RailPrints that also lines up well, I would love to link it here! Drop a comment or message me on the COI Discord.

Currently this set contains no electrified track pieces (introduced with Update 4).

Note that I am not super familiar with the track markings (No-stop, exclusive); some of these may need work on that end. Please do mention if you come across one that deadlocks or could be marked more efficiently!

12 April 2026 - R9 Progress Update

Hi, it's been a while! RailPrints took a bit of a hiatus while I burned out on CoI and had other things to deal with but with CoI Update 4 it is back under development and now has a horrifying amount of new stuff to make thanks to electrified rail. In the interim I've significantly scaled back the ambitions of R9 (and all the web stuff with R10 is completely out). R9 will now focus on achieving several things:

  • Fill out the Intercardinal (IC) set as much as possible, bringing it up to parity with the Cardinal (C) set
  • Fill out the Angle Transfer C-IC set as much as possible, to make interfacing between the two orientations easier
  • Remove 2 Median and 6 Median blueprints to make space in each set (these removed pieces will be re-released as an RP Extra later), leaving 0, 4, and 8 as the median sizes throughout RailPrints

In addition, there are a few things that were planned but will no longer be made, mostly to do with 22° blueprints. There are some unique challenges with creating track blueprints at that orientation, as well as the overall low usefulness of the set, that have led to this decision. Angle Transfers will eventually have interfacing with 22° angles but there will not be a full set of pieces similar to the C or IC sets for that orientation.

As alluded to earlier, electrified track also presents a huge problem for RailPrints. I would like to do a RailPrints Elec version that is simply all the existing stuff but electrified; however, this is a massive undertaking that doubles the number of blueprints in the set, and complicates maintenance later on. The current solution of place non-elec blueprint and electrify it will have to suffice for now.

I had also anticipated splitting the existing RailPrints packs into smaller chunks so they could be more complete while complying with the hub limitations on blueprint sizes; with the removal of 2 and 6 Median pieces, this plan may not be necessary and will be evaluated later. R9 will continue the same general structure as R8.

R9 is currently set for some time in April/May 2026. Thanks for your patience everyone <3

Love these! They work great in my base.

Due to limitations on the COI hub, the main blueprint set is too large to fit here! You can find the complete sets here: LATEST R8 https://gist.githubusercontent.com/GOTOVelociraptor/e4bf2da251773544962a71a8d5da6716/raw/15593dd28cb91102a872978056668160d6372fea/RailPrints_R8_Complete.txt
any update on the later r9 or r10 updates?
Zephyr (edited)
@PrimeDew there's a new lengthier explanation in the description, but a couple things collided that put R9/R10 in intractable positions. I've scaled back the ambitions for it and will be releasing an R9 that fills out the IC and Angle Transfers sets, as well as trims the 2/6 median blueprints out. There will be some new prints as well in that. Expect it within a month!

thanks for the feedback....i was just curious due to the new update..... your work is one of the most elaborate ones (if not the most) in the all the rail tracks blueprints there is...keep up the good work....at your own pace though.....nothing good comes with haste....well most of the time
