Description

Manufacturing Hub

Author: Calen

v3.1.1

The Manufacturing Hub is my centralized complex for (almost) all things created by assembly plants and their derivatives - vehicles, research, and maintenance specifically. Not included is Uranium Rod production, which is part of my Nuclear Power Station; Medical Supplies, which is part of my Food & Drug Center; and Solar Panels, which I don't currently use. While all my complexes (Oil Refinery, Unified Foundry, Food & Drug Center, & Nuclear Power Station) are built in stages, the Manufacturing Hub has the most at 15.

Stages of the Manufacturing Hub:

A brief note on storage: While storage is used for accumulating goods, I also like to think of it as a buffer against "the bad times". However, in an effort to really condense the layout of the hub as much as possible, I have shrunk the size and use of egress storage and removed internal storage entirely. I have only had one full playthrough with this new design, but it seems to work well. I do miss my massive amounts of electronics storage though. I am pondering reincorporating it into the design at a later date. If you decide to use the hub, let me know your thoughts/experience with the reduced storage in the comments.

Tips

  1. Start with constructing the transport and storage first, then construct the buildings as able/needed.
  2. Research Maintenance Depot II as soon as you can so you can upgrade the starting depots.
  3. Add Maintenance Depots as needed - a maximum of 5 Maintenance Depots and 4 Maintenance II Depots.
  4. To gain Lab Equipment needed for constructing/upgrading the Research Labs, remove them from the transports (trashcan icon).
  5. Perform conversion to steel Mechanical Parts as soon as possible.
  6. Perform upgrades as soon as possible.

Note: Please excuse the blocked connections at the maintenance depots in stage 1, they will go away once you upgrade them.

The one thing I find at fault is construction capacity is low for my tastes. I'd like it more if that was doubled, that is easy but would require more electronics production. At times if feels like an eternity to build something waiting lmao.

Otherwise amazing. I love how it is in stages by your tech level. BRAVO Best all in one stuff ever

Great blueprints. Question:

What happened to the transport 'around back' for settlement needs (household goods, etc.) and diesel? I seemed to have lost it when i updated blueprint.
@kam99 - Thank you! This made my day. :)
I had been using JDPlays blueprints.

Calen's blueprints are more efficient, more compact and optimised for COI Update 2.

Quite simply, they are the best blueprints available.
@Respen - Fixed. Thanks.
The copy/paste is still showing for me as v3.1.0 instead of the new v3.1.1
could you make a pic how the transports should match with the layer 1 manu hub? Also it seems that belts from the unified refinery dont match up with the manufacturing hub?
Calen (edited)
@Emrys - There are Imgur URLs for each stage in the description above showing how to install it.
@Grinder - That's awesome! How did it work out?
Are there instructions on how to connect the individual blueprints?

Outstanding work here Calen! I am converting my island to incorporate all of your blueprints.Yours are the hands down best due to the thoughtful integration across all manufacturing logic chains. Sincere thanks for your efforts, they are appreciated. I too would be interested in your full island layout. I lack the big picture goal you seem to have mastered as I am still working through my first run.

Grandmaster of blueprints indeed!

P.S. Copy/paste link above is v.3.0.1 not v.3.0.2.

@mommaray - They don't currently. I plan on working on that in the next week or so.

They do now! I would update both the Unified Foundry and Manufacturing Hub blueprints.
quick question...by any chance do the transports for this blueprint match up to the outgoing transports for the foundry?
@Beton1975 - I typically trade Vehicle Parts II for crude oil.
Great Blueprint...just one question. Why do you have a large box with vehicle parts 2 above the vehicles depot? Any particular reason?

Hi, Jadnar. I'm happy you love my blueprints! I will put "including a final/complete version" on my list of to-dos. That list is getting shorter though, so it shouldn't be too long to wait. It's funny you should ask that about the belts lining up - I've been contemplating this a lot lately. Right now they don't, but I think they should. Specifically, I would like to have a common layout/organization between the Oil Refinery, The Manufacturing Hub, and the Unified Foundry.
Love this, Could you add a 'final' version in your BP's with the finished product? Also, do your belt layouts match the other books you've made? For example, Does the Manufacturing hub line up with the Foundry. Thank you for making these.
Great job, well done !
Its working fine
Thank you!
The Grandmaster of Blueprint's.
Very Nice Job :) ..
