Description

Mega Oil Power Plant 300MW

The facility generates 300 MW of electricity directly from Crude Oil. It fully purifies Exhaust and CO₂, and converts Sour Water into 205 Fertilizer II. The power plant is optimized for the most efficient use of a single ship supplying Oil via Food Pack trade — even without Office bonuses. While Oil can also be traded for Gold or Vehicle Parts II, exchanging it for Food Packs remains the most balanced option. Thanks to the plant’s high fertilizer output, this trade can make the facility self-sustaining and renewable. The facility becomes technologically available simultaneously with Nuclear reactor I — at the beginning of the late game. The power plant is scalable for higher electricity output and has good maneuverability, allowing it to save fuel under variable load in the power grid.

Startup Procedure:

  1. When trading Food Packs for Crude Oil, it will be necessary to run 2 Food Pack factories: https://hub.coigame.com/Blueprint/Detail/624.
  2. Build 1 Cargo Depot with 8 modules, and assign 1 ship to it. The Cargo Depot should have 1 Unit module for Food Packs/Gold/Vehicle Parts II (T3 level) and 7 Fluid modules for Crude Oil (T3 level) — set to priority 2. Assign a trade contract to trade Crude Oil.
  3. Build the power plant nearby.
    • Connect the Crude Oil storage to the Cargo Depot using two 900 pipes.
    • Connect the plant to 3 Seawater Pumps and 2 Liquid Dumps set to priority 2. Brine output is located near the Seawater storage.
  4. Make several ship deliveries to fill the Crude Oil storage. The ship operates in normal mode, with each delivery occurring every 4.5 months.
  5. The facility is equipped with an electric boiler for initial startup. Once the system processes its first batch of self-produced fuel, the main gas boilers will take over and the electric boiler will shut off automatically.
  6. When the Medium Oil storage is full, unpause the 2 main steam pipelines leading to the turbines (see screenshot 4).
  7. The electric boiler can then be removed.

Note: Timely export of all solid and liquid byproducts is crucial for the power plant’s operation. Gases are easier to manage — they can be vented through backup Smoke Stacks if processing is not possible due to full storage, and so on. Therefore, the power plant will issue warning notifications when storage levels exceed 75%.
